World AIDS Day on 1st December brings together people from around the world to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS and demonstrate international solidarity in the face of epidemic. It is one of the most widely recognized international health days and key opportunity to raise awareness and celebrate victories such as increased access to treatment and prevention services.
Banaskantha district has been declared as “red zone” when it comes to prevalence of HIV. The district has around 2215 patients undergoing treatment of HIV. The Teacher Training Colleges of Vidyamandir Trust Secondary Education observed World AIDS Day on December 1, 2020, virtually on Microsoft Teams. As an awareness drive regarding the disease speeches were delivered by the student teachers not only to mark the significance of maintaining good health but also for causes and prevention of AIDS . A poster making competition was organized for which students submitted their entries through mail in which Jhalak, Bhoomi Prajapati and Suresh Choudhary secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
